Information
Axis Linux is a simple Linux distribution, based on Arch Linux. It's currently WIP (Work In Progress). You can view our progress and contribute to the project on our GitHub page.
The main goal of Axis Linux is to be a more stable environment. Our plans include:
Ditching systemd in favor of using a less bloated and faster init system (coming soon)
Providing an optional GUI installer for beginners (alpha version)
Official releases for different hardware architectures, e.g. 32-bit, arm (coming soon)
- Well, that sounds like another clone of Arch that is barely any different than others.
Most distributions based on Arch Linux are heavily modified and bloated with a lot of custom applications. Axis Linux will provide the same experience as standard Arch Linux but with some additional, minimal fixes to be more stable.
- Why do you want to ditch systemd? There is nothing wrong with it.
We are aiming to provide a seemless experience for the user. systemd doesn't follow the KISS rule, is bloated, isn't secure enough and often breaks or loses logs. The init system we are working on - axinit
- will be similar in terms of commands and creating service files. The new init will be faster, more secure, easier to debug and just - simpler.

Currently, the documentation is still being worked on.
